On Saturday I had the pleasure to witness and capture my first Polish Wedding! I had to go to Adelaide to do it but it was worth it! Not sure if I have mentioned this before or not but I am Polish, I was born in Warsaw and came to Australia 27 years ago! ( wow I forgot how long I’ve actually been an Aussie! )
On Saturday, in Mannum near the Murray River Mariusz and Maria got married! But the celebrations really started on Friday where with their closest friends they set of on a cruise down and up the Murray in a Houseboat! On Friday night they docked at Mannum near where the ceremony was to take place the following day at 12 noon.

A toast to the Married Couple, of Vodka and Raspberry Cordial. They make up the Polish flag in a shot glass!

The Bread and Salt blessing is a Polish Wedding tradition. At the reception the parents of the bride and groom greet the newly married couple with bread which is sprinkled with salt and a goblet of wine. In Mariusz and Majas case it was their family friends as their parents could not be at the wedding. And instead of wine, yes there was Vodka!

Instead of gifts Mariusz and Maja asked for Toys which they plan to donate to an orphanich.

Some more Polish tradition of wrapping the bride and groom with streamers as they dance the bridal waltz

Polish flag signed by all guests at the Ceremony and Reception.

Mariusz and Maja, I hope you had a great time and thank you for letting me be part of your wedding day!
